Vehicle Description
We hate to part with our Westy!! Unfortunately we had to put in a new well at our house and she needs a new home so we can pay for it.
This van is very unique in that it has very low mileage and is in mint condition. The paint and interior look like new. She was garaged and unused for ten years before the guy whom we bought her from purchased her. He replaced/repaired almost everything you can imagine and spent thousands in preparation for a family trip. He was forced to sell her after a family illness with 108,000 miles.
We have in turn spent thousands on other things such as tires, awning, roof rack, rocket box and some remaining mechanical repairs that were needed. We have all the records from both owners. Our plan before our well went dry was to take a long trip down south to the southern US and Mexico, so she is fit, strong and ready for adventures, just not ours unfortunately. She has been garaged the entire time we've had her. Here is a brief list of what has been done:
- new propane tank
- new roof rack system
- premium Packasport rooftop storage box
- lift assist struts for "popping the top"
- new auxiliary battery
- new Alpine stereo/CD player with four speakers
- just replaced the heater core ($835)
- just replaced both front and lower ball joints
- new General Grabber tires, great for improving stability and enables travel on gravel/dirt roads
- all windows tinted for privacy: you can't see through any of the rear windows from outside
- new ARB Touring awning, deployed exactly twice
- replaced speedometer assembly with GoWesty rebuilt
- new CV joints, Porshe 944 CVs
- replaced fuel filter with new upgraded kit
- Colgan custom front auto bra
- full van cover for sun protection/dust protection when not in use
Before we purchased her, here are a few highlights of what the previous owner did:
- new cat converters
- gas tank removed and all fuel lines replaced
- honed cylinders
- full clutch assembly
- new water pump
- rebuilt right and left brake shoes, cylinders and hardware
- new KYB shocks
- new right and left wheel bearings
- hydraulic flush
- timing and adjusted to spec
- replaced rings
- added propane heater, works great we've used it
and so on....
Again, we have all the records, plus we have all the original books on the van, and everything in the van!
This is one of the few vehicles that actually goes up in value, and this one is a collector's gem.
She is ready for adventure...is it yours?
