If you are looking for a truck that can take abuse and come back looking for more, this is it. For all the years that I have owned it, people have knocked on the door asking to buy it off of me, but I was not ready then … I am now. This truck can pull and haul more load that you would expect from a “3/4 ton” truck.
This vehicle was my everyday transportation and the ONLY reason why I am selling it is because I bought a newer truck that has more cab space for people (crew cab). Now the ’86 is redundant.
The asking price is $4000 and this is solely due to the cost of the upgrades that have occurred over the last year and a half. This price does not cover the actual vehicle cost and upgrades that I have done over the 17-18 years that I have had it. So, in a way, this price is a steal. I will take offers that are reasonable.
As a side note, I still have many of the parts that were removed from the truck that will go with it if the new owner wants to swap back to the older parts (carburetor, distributor, rear end, etc.).
There are only 2 “real” problems. The first is that water can come in around the windshield top. The second is that the speedometer is currently not working – the key that holds the plastic gear in the transfer case has fallen out. I have been using an app on my phone for knowing the speed instead … I have added about 2000 miles to it from the time the speedo stopped.
Monday through Friday, I work from 6-4, so texting during that time would be best. Contact me via text, phone, or e-mail.
I do not need help selling this vehicle.
