Vehicle Description
Barn find? More like a barn relic. I bought this car in April of '87 (ordered it they way I wanted it - no decals or bragging, more of a sleeper). The car was rarely used (Sunday drives and test rides - literally) the first few years but I started driving it more regularly until the early 90's. I had alternative transport for a while (train station runs in an old truck) but at 15 years it had 98,000 miles. I loved this car - never left it when it went for service, maintained quite a bit myself. I didn't have the heart to sell it or trade it (always undervalued on a trade) so I rolled it into the barn.
There was some rot (visible - driver side) on the door, sill, pillar so my plan was to get those areas repaired and get it back on the road. The doors are off (spares included), seats out, carpet pulled, and gas tank dropped (planned to replace fuel line, filter, and fuel pump) but stalled with all of the other projects (house, kids, barn, etc). At 35 years it is in decent shape but clearly a project car. Oh - I have a stage II chip for it as well. The cylinders were fogged about 12 years ago and pushed in the corner.
This car has the aluminum wheels (lighter) with rear drum brakes - otherwise mechanically a GN. It is more rare - gray/frost w/red pinstripe. Crank windows, T-Tops (extra seals for the tops but older) - digital dash.
We all know what the value would be as a completed or running car, but it is a project - realistic. If more pictures are helpful we can do that too - ask questions pleased. I am in no hurry to let it go, but before the winter storms roll in would be ideal. I dusted it off - I can carefully wash it down for a better view if anyone needs a better peek.
Serious inquiries please - no trades, swaps - and scammers beware (been there, avoid Ray). I am still researching price and will check the auctions. If you have a better way to evaluate pricing please share (constructively). It is hard enough to let her go but it will be best to have someone restore this to original.
Massachusetts title, looking for original sticker (I may have it).
