Vehicle Description
1987 Land Rover Defender 90
The vehicle has been restored with a large number of interior upgrades and new parts. Low miles. Clean Massachusetts title. Registered and inspected. VIN plate on the brake booster and VIN stamp on the chassis both match as they should.
DESCRIPTION
Everything is in working condition. The heater, blower fan, horn, turn signals, windshield washer, lights, high beams, cigarette lighter, kill switch, gauges...everything works, as it should.
This truck drives as well as it looks... super tight, shifts smoothly through all gears, brakes without incident, and handles brilliantly. There is no vibration in the steering wheel. The diff lock turns this truck into an off road machine.
Attention has been spent on known Defender problem areas. As an example, just about anything rubber that degrades has been replaced including all rubber hoses, mounts, gaskets, belts, etc. Much of this vehicle is brand new including the radiator, battery, lift pump, fuel pump, head gasket, clutch, alternator, shocks, fuel tank, exhaust and much more.

ENGINE SPECS
The 2.5 liter diesel (model 12J) naturally aspirated engine has a reputation for reliability and longevity. This type of engine has a relatively low compression ratio and simplistic design. With proper maintenance these engines can easily survive more than 300,000 miles - This one has only ~76,000 miles. We recently replaced the head gasket and have demonstrated equal compression across all four cylinders in the attached photos.
