Vehicle Description
Regretfully selling my 88 Jeep Comanche. If I could keep this truck as a 3rd vehicle I would, but the time has come to get rid of it.
Basic Specs:
4.0L I6 Engine
AX15 5 Speed Manual
4x4 with cable-operated CAD
Dana 30 front, 35 rear
The Good:
- Basically no rust
- Catalytic converter and muffler replaced April 2021, passes emissions
- Newer tires, plenty of tread
- New plugs, wires, distributor, injectors, vacuum lines, and manifold gasket done April 2021
- Energy Suspension polyurethane front suspension bushings also done April 2021, no death-wobble
- New front and rear springs, leaf spring and shackle bushings, and Rancho 9000 shocks installed in November 2021
The Bad:
- Everything leaks. Par for the course for old Jeeps like this, just keep things topped up
- No AC. I do have basically everything you need to install a new AC system from JeepAir, minus the condenser. Will be included with the sale
- HVAC box is broken, and none of the vacuum controlled vents work. Right now it comes out of the center vent and the defrosters but heat does work
- Wheel bearing going out. I believe it's on the front, haven't diagnosed fully
- Passenger door dented fender in front of it, see pics
- AC compressor squeals at idle when it's cold out, but I do have a new one included in sale
- Has the typical spot weld failure on the driver's door striker. Still closes all the way but you have to slam it
- Door locks don't work. Will include new Crown Auto locks with sale.
Overall it's rough around the edges, but a really good start for an offroad build, modern XJ swap, or both. Never fails to start every time.
$4000 OBO. Check the reply button for my phone number, texts preferred but I'll respond to CL email as well.
