1988 Volvo 245 wagon, manual 5 speed transmission (hard to find) Adult owned and driven.
2 sets tires/wheels (Nokian Hakkapeliitta studs on steels w/hubcaps, and IPD Virgo's on all seasons) Both sets new in past year or two-excellent tread
Re-covered driver seat with fresh foam/vinyl reproduction cover. Rest of seats excellent condition!
New heater fan installed last winter (this is NOT a job you want to do) Heat works great!
Fresh timing belt, bosch alternator, thermostat, coolant hose, belt tensioner, front crank seal etc.
Both fuel pumps replaced/filter as well
Headliner/carpet/glass in great shape-could use a windshield though
Hidden rear seat is in excellent, un-used condition! Fun for kids, just don't get rear-ended...
IPD cat back sport exhaust. Not loud or annoying, sounds nice
Clear coat on hood is not so good, rest of paint good. A few bumps/bruises, but overall in great shape. Yes the dash is cracked.
I have used this as my daily driver/commuter. Car runs well, stops well, and shifts like it should. No slop in steering. Has been a reliable, fun daily. Super easy to work on, with parts readily available through IPD. We love this old wagon but recently got something newer to haul kiddo around. Does surprisingly EXCELLENT in the snow/ice! If they still sold 240's like this new, I would buy one. They are reliable and last forever.
