Vehicle Description
Selling this beautiful little car-nicknamed Heidi-that has been in my family for over two decades.
My dad bought Heidi back in 2000, when she was at 100k miles, and drove her in NW Florida for about 7 years and 7k miles. He sold her to my cousin up in Memphis, who put another 14-15k miles on it over 14 years. Heidi has been garage-kept and sunshine-kissed for over 2/3 of her life. The hardtop has only been installed during the sales transitions.
I bought Heidi as a summer car, and stored her all of last winter. The car was properly winterized, and all the liquids were properly added before and after.
OK, here are some details, as I know them:
Let's start with some of the shortcomings.
-The seat covers are not original, but are in good shape.
-The sun visors disintegrated years ago, and my cousin and I have been unable to find replacements. I haven't tried very hard.
-In a bad rainstorm this past spring, something shorted out and caused the alarm to sound and not get shut off. I removed the glove compartment and was able to deactivate (and remove) the alarm. I still have it.
-The owner prior to my dad (who put 100k miles from '89-'00) did a couple things that were interesting decisions. I'm 20+ years away from knowing why, so they will likely remain mysteries.
-Tried to add a cupholder in the door, so there are 4 screw holes in the leather.
-Added foglights or something, that look like they're after-market. There's a lightswitch looking thing under the dashboard that probably used to turn them on. Doesn't anymore. Not bothering anything, so none of us did anything with it.
Here's the good:
-This motor sounds sooooo sweet and rumbly; Heidi will definitely move.
-My cousin's mechanic checked her all out before he sold to me, and mine here (who is a Mercedes guru) gave it his blessing.
-Soft top is very simple to put up/down. I've got it down to less than 30 seconds.
-New radio/CD player (remember those?). I still have the original.
Not interested in any help selling. Not really in any hurry. Can set up a video call or an in-person viewing.
No lowball offers, please. Not going waste your time or mine with a response.
I'll only accept payment that can be quickly verified (Zelle. cashiers check. cash is pretty verifiable, too). I took out a loan with my bank (back when the rates were soooo good), so they're holding the title.
Reach out if you're interested, and I'll get back to you when I can. Thanks for reading.
