This was my pandemic purchase in May of 2021. The engine, along with just about everything under the hood, was replaced in July ’21. The engine started overheating on the highway and when I pulled off, smoke began rolling out under the hood. I took a chance buying this sight unseen and it didn’t pay off, oh well, shit happens. Anyways, had the car towed to a guy that has been working on Z’s since ’95. I asked him, besides the engine, what else should I replace since the engine is out. Below is the list of everything that was replaced.
- Used Rebuilt Engine (New Rings, Bearings, Valve Job)
- 740s Injectors
- Boost Jets(currently running about 14 psi)
- EGR & PCV Deletes
- ECU Chipped
- New Style Injector Adapters
- Coil Pack Connectors
- SpecialtyZ’s 120K Timing Belt Kit
- New Radiator
- Z1 Motorsports Silicone TT Intake Boost Hose Set
- Z1 Motorsports Silicone PCV Hose Kit
- Z1 Motorsports Silicone Coolant Hoses
- Z1 Motorsports Silicone Heater Core Hoses
- Z1 Motorsports Silicone Radiator Hose Set
- Z1 Motorsports Fuel Line Kit
- Oil and Filter Change
- Valve Cover Gaskets
- Manifold Gaskets
- O2 Sensors
- Spark Plugs
- Coolant Temp Sensor
- Connectors/Harness for Fast Idle/Air Regulator & Coolant Temp Sensor/AAC Valve
- K&N Air Filters
- Crankshaft Rear Main Seal & Retainer Gasket
- Recharge A/C to 134A
Other parts replaced:
- Z1 Motorsports Performance Brake Kit (Feb '22)
- Z1 Motorsports Adjustable Front Upper Control Arms (July '22)
- Wheels - 18x8.5 Avid AV26 (Jan '22)
- Tires - 245/35/18 Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 (Jan '22)
- Windshield Cowl Panel
- Low Beam Headlights
- ZSPEC Stereo Bezel
- Clock Blockoff Plate (Still have clock and it worked fine when removed)
- Front Mats from Interior Innovations
- T-Top Bags from Interior Innovations
- Passenger A Pillar trim
Things not installed:
- 4 Kicker speakers (Decided not to install head unit since I'm selling the car)
- ZShack Full Interior LED Light Set
- “Like New” Steering Wheel
- T-Top Weatherstrip Rubber Seal
- Roof/T-Top/Windshield Moulding
- T-Top Bar
- A bunch of other odds and ends that I’ve bought during the past year
Other Stuff:
- Factory Service Manual
- 3 Oil Filters
- Cruise control doesn't work. The light comes on but it won't engage.
The car runs fine and the A/C blows cold and the heat works great.
This was my dream car when I was in high school but I don’t have the passion for it that I thought I would. I've moved on to another car now, so I rarely drive this now so the mileage won’t go up much. If you have any questions or want more pics, just let me know, thanks. I’m located in Ohio between Columbus and Dayton.
No trades and if it's listed it's still for sale.
