Vehicle Description
Good condition, solid-running '91 Volvo 240 station wagon. 297k on the iron block engine, about 180k on the 3-speed auto transmission (w/ overdrive).
Here's the lowdown: this car starts right up, idles smooth and strong, runs/shifts good, turns good, brakes good, and heats good. But as any 30 year old car with close to 300k miles, it needs some work. Nothing huge or major, but there are a handful of things you'll want to get fixed eventually. E.g., radiator hoses, an engine mount, parking brake, A/C, and tie rod ends. The other stuff is minor, e.g. muffler mount, some lights, windshield wiper, heated seats, rear seat latch, sun visor missing latch, odometer doesn't work, driver door doesn't lock open, etc.
Kurt, the Volvo specialist at Bob's Imported Auto in Santa Fe, fully inspected this car. Results: for about $600 (including parts+labor), you'll have this running strong and solid for a few years. For about $2,000, you'll have everything fixed and working like new.
If you're looking for a car you can slide into and cruise stylishly down the strip, this ain't it. Some rust around the wheel wells and runners, dent in the hatch (still closes/locks fine), couple small stitches on the fabric of the front passenger seat, etc. But if you want a reliable car that's mechanically sound with little rust on the body and undercarriage and don't mind all the quirks in the accessories/amenities, this may suit you.
Brand new all-season tires were just installed a few weeks ago. Pioneer CD player (no aux input). Comes with roof rack and bike mount.
Clean title in hand. Best cash offer takes it. Call, text or email Dave with questions or interest in a test drive. 720-four one four-0516.
