Vehicle Description
Beautiful white classic Ford F150 4x4, MANUAL TRANSMISSION, starts, runs, and shifts really well. It's a little challenging to get into 4x4 but it will go and works properly. History on the vehicle and why I am selling it:
- It was used for a long time (maybe originally?) as a farm truck in VA
- It was purchased by a man in MD and owned for ~1-2 years, used a hunting truck
- I bought it in September 2022, thinking I was exempt from both a smog AND a safety check in VA
- The mechanic informed me that I do indeed need a safety check to drive it daily - and it then promptly failed inspection
I drove the truck for a couple weeks before it flunked inspection, and it runs strong - everything that is necessary for it to drive works well. I have a clean title and a 1 year registration in VA. It could be a great truck for anyone willing to invest a little time or money, specifically in the frame. This is the list of known issues on the truck:
From the safety inspector: Both tag lights out, two cap lights out, driver inside door handle does not work (have to roll down window and unlock from outside), wiper blades work great but need replacement, no battery hold down, BOTH FRONT BODY MOUNTS (by the radiator) ARE BAD AND NEED REPLACING, no turn down on exhaust, LEAF SPRING BUSHINGS BAD, left rear klower uBolt broken, driver and right front wheel missing a lug nut.
From me: the rear gas tank (this is a dual tank truck) does not get gas to the engine when you flick the switch from the driver cab. Bad fuel pump? Not sure. Also the gas meter on the FRONT tank does not work so you are driving blind . but it takes 19 gallons or so and should get at least 10 mpg. LASTLY - there is some kind of small fuel leak going on, especially noticed when the tank is fuller. The leak seems to stop when the gas level drops a bit. However of course that's a safety hazard that you would want repaired - the mechanic said probably NEW gas tank and NEW fuel lines there.
Basically, there is so much rust on the truck that it probably wouldn't last more than 6 years anyway, per the mechanic and the body shop guy. But mechanically it works.
I did not get a CARFAX on this, but you are free to if you wish - VIN is in the posting
Give me an email/text with interest, will consider best offer.
