Vehicle Description
Selling my 1995 base model Mitsubishi 3000GT
I am selling the 3kGT simply because I can't afford to fix it. It had a massive coolant leak and overheated, and even after patching the leak and replacing all the coolant, it still overheated quickly and started idling oddly. I know it can be repaired, and if I had deep enough pockets to do so I would have. It starts up but cant run for long before overheating, so this is a car that needs a trailer. Has numerous other issues that could be ignored if all you want is a fun car that drives fine, and are mostly cosmetic or a bit annoying.
Issues include:
-previous driver ran it off the road, no damage to functional parts, only cosmetic damage on the front bumper, driver side rocker panel, and various paint scratches. the impact also cracked and misaligned a fog light, which still turns on without issue. no problems with steering or engine.
-the car was previously impounded (due to the reckless driving of the previous owner) and it has been searched. the interior is missing some bits here and there but none of the gaps are big enough for you to loose any groceries in. all interior components except the back-lighting of the dash work just fine.
-the window seals are dried out and don't work at all. Could eventually cause rust due to water having easy access to the inside of the door.
-the handle to adjust seating position has broken off, making it difficult to adjust but by no means impossible.
-locks aren't gonna cause you any grief if you never lock the car. the locks of the car when I first got it were completely useless, and failed to move even after anti-rust treatment. the passenger side lock was replaced, and now it thinks it needs to be in full-auto. turning the key causes the car to lock and unlock rapidly, and it likes to re-lock itself after you pull the key out, so be careful to not lock yourself out of it.
Now that we got all the issues I can think of out of the way, here are the good things this car has to offer:
-an upgraded sound system with a touchscreen and CD player.
-sub-woofer with a hole in it. it works just fine and is very loud, it just doesn't look like it should.
-New winter tires, just a few months old.
-the old 90 amp alternator was replaced with a re-manufactured 110 amp one. fixed the voltage dips the subs caused.
-amazing handling and acceleration for a car of its age, and its N/A engine gives immediate throttle response. (when operational)
-5 speed manual transmission, no issues with it or the clutch.
-comes with a set of pedal covers I never got around to installing. pictured above.
-has a goodie-bag of random stuff that was in the car. its been worked on a ton and all the old parts I took off of it are included in the bag, as well as some random bolts and screws Ive tossed in from all over the place. (none came off the car) old alternator doesn't fit in the bag but is still included, and is functional.
-the wheels are secured with anti-theft devices (can't remember what they are called) and require an adapter to remove. I have two adapters that will be included with the car, one to keep with the car in case of a flat and one to keep at home as a spare.
-negotiable price! I know how bashed up this thing is so I'm OK letting the price drop a bit. No low-balls though.
that is all about the car as it is now, but with proper repairs it will be the fun car it used to be.
*I am also selling a new water pump for this engine at the price of $250, gasket and O-ring included. It was purchased before I gave up on repairs and has never been out of the box for more than the 30 seconds it took for me to check the contents of the box. never used, nice and shiny.*
