Vehicle Description
This Beautiful Competition Yellow 1996 Corvette Convertible has treated me well over the past 4.5 years I have owned her, but it is now time for her to find her 3rd owner. I have decided that I would like to upgrade to a newer Corvette, which is I why I am selling mine.
I bought this Corvette from a GM Dealer where the 1st owner traded it in on a new Yukon. It had just over 34k miles when I bought it, and it now has just over 42,500 miles. We had a good number of drives and adventures, including numerous trips to Michigan, car shows around Illinois and Wisconsin (she came 2nd in its class at a Corvette Concours near Milwaukee), and just typical weekend drives. She has never left me stranded and has been very reliable.
Mobile 1 oil changes and dealer serviced. She is mechanically sound with no major issues. Being 25 years old, there are some areas that have typical wear throughout the vehicle. There is some normal seepage and an occasional drip of oil, but again, nothing major. As for her exterior, the Competition Yellow paint looks excellent! You have to get really close, like really close, to see any imperfections, of which there are few. There are some areas where there is a crack in the clear coat, but no paint is faded or peeling.
The interior is also in great condition! The seats have some creases in the leather, but no tears. The convertible top has no holes and does not leak. There is a small hole in part of the headliner near the folding mechanism, but the top itself is solid. Some of the weatherstripping is starting to show its age, but they still seal. You may get a drop inside if you spray up the window towards the top, but none comes in if you get caught in a rainstorm. There is a small crack in the fiberglass on the door jam of the drivers door and the driver door panel is a little loose. All the electronics inside and everything else inside all work as they should.
She is also a Rare Corvette! She may not be a Grand Sport or Collector's Edition, but only 488 Competition Yellow Corvette's were built in 96! Only 61 where Convertible's! And that doesn't include the fact that this Corvette has the Rare F45 Selective Real Time Damping suspension (13% of all Corvette's in 96 had this option)! So this beauty is definitely one of less than 61 ever made!
She will also come with a custom CoverKing indoor cover, reprint of the Window Sticker and Build Sheet, a 1996 Corvette Brochure, original owners manual, 2 sets of keys, 3 fobs (2 have broken key rings), and a Clean Title that I have in hand.
I'm asking $16,500 OBO. No Trades and this is posted on other sites. Being sold AS-IS with No Warranties Implied or Otherwise. I've tried to explain any faults to the best of my knowledge, but it is a 25 year old Corvette and it is not a show car. It gets driven as all Corvette's should be.
