Vehicle Description
THIS IS A PROJECT
I feel I've priced this fairly and am not flexible on price at all. It wouldn't bother me if it continued to sit in my garage until I find time to work on it. I'll entertain trades or partial trade+cash of similar value - dirt bike (youth or adult), go kart (racing), home defense, RC car/truck/boat, offshore fishing gear, etc.
1997 Z28
5.7 LT1
4L60E
I'd have to hook 12v up, but think mileage is 150k-ish
I bought this car in 2008. I added Lingenfelter cold air intake, strut tower bar, subframe connectors, PCM4Less tune, Magnaflow muffler, and 3.73 gears. In early 2010 my son was born, so a 2 door convertible wasn't practical. My dad wanted the car and drove it up until 3yrs ago. He was in S FL visiting my brother in college and the car overheated / quit running. A shop told my parents it needed a new engine. My parents didn't want to put any money into it, so told me if I towed it home, I could have it as a project. It's been in my garage ever since.
A buddy of mine had a 97 Trans Am WS6 that he was building, so I bought some of his factory parts. I have stock heads, full suspension, OEM 17" high polish wheels (in addition to OEM silver 15" Z28), some random crap (radiator, Optispark parts, rearend, etc). I also have a brand new set of longtube stainless headers.
My goal for this project was cheap, lightweight, fair weather fun with mild build/cam. I wanted to strip A/C, emissions, top, door glass, etc. I started stripping things (A/C, emissions, pulled heads). I have 5 kids, boat, work, etc, so don't have a lot of free time and lost interest. It does have some sentimental value to me, so won't give it away. The parts alone are worth what I'm asking (longtubes were $600 and wheels go for $800+).
Car has some small sections of peeling paint, dash is cracked, cloth top needs replacing (frame is fine and hydraulics may/may not work - been a while since it's even been tested).it's basically a 24yr old car that spent its entire life in FL. Good thing is no rust that I know of and clean title
I'll post a few pics in a day or two. Currently buried in my car under Christmas decorations, surfboard, etc
