1997 Chevy C3500 HD flatbed 6.5 diesel

Purchased from town of cedar lake with 100,000 Miles they replaced engine 5 years ago

Engine has roughly 30,000 miles and runs great I replaced
front shocks, brake calipers and pads, belt tensioner and idler pulley, new front steer tires, brand new dual batteries and installed glow plug bypass to manually control glow plugs
I used this truck to pick up pallets of sand from Chicago it has hauled 4000 lbs without any problems Its a beast for towing and hauling

its been very dependable and never failed to start perfect for towing or hauling has 8ft dock height flatbed it does have some rust but not terrible I place a dime next to the only hole for reference . floor boards are solid just grimy

However check engine light has always been on since purchase and it has no overdrive 1st thru 3rd only which all shift smoothly cruises at 50 - 55 mph no problem . town said its been that way since engine change could be simple fix I am not a mechanic and haven't had it looked into, since it served its purpose for me as is.
