ONE OWNER SINCE NEW!
ONE OF THE BEST EXTANT - WINNER OF 2018 LINCOLN CONTINENTAL OWNERS CLUB (LCOC) FoMoCo BEST IN SHOW IN ITS CLASS
HISTORY - purchased new in Atlanta, GA and executive driven to corporate HQ with garaged parking. My goal was to take exceptional care of the car, and to show it at a major LCOC event after my retirement. In real estate, the mantra is "location location location". At a major Lincoln Continental Owners Club show, the mantra is "condition, condition, condition" - and this car - with nearly 200,000 miles, handily outscored two Mark VIII examples with 40,000 and 60,000 mileage ranges! Yes, it is THAT good...and scored 98.833 points out of the possible 100.000.
EXTENSIVE DOCUMENTATION incudes major receipts, copy of 1998 Bill of Sale, Factory Window Price Sticker, and images of the summary LCOC score sheet and back page of the July-Aug 2018 Continental Comments back cover, featuring this car.
RARE OPPORTUNITY TO HAVE A TOP-LEVEL FORD MOTOR COMPANY AWARD WINNER FOR LESS THAN $20,000...there are Lincoln Continental Owners Club (LCOC) members with $50,000+ cars who have NEVER won the FoMoCo Trophy!
COMPARE!...please compare this car to ANY Mark VIII of ANY year ANYWHERE in the U.S. Unfortunately, the vast majority of these complex and advanced cars were NOT well-cared for because the owners either did not have the "feeling" for the car that I have had, OR - as the car slipped into its 2nd, 3rd, and 4th owners - no one cared enough or could afford to give the car proper car. Fine Mark VIII examples are fast-becoming a highly desirable collectible rarity.
OPERATIONALS - the only item I know of that does not work is the driver's side-view mirror dimming feature - Lincoln had trouble with these, so I had a very nice flat custom-cut glass piece replace the inoperative dimming glass (even the judges overlooked this as it looks "factory").
98.833 out of 100.000 - means that the car was judged to be very close to "new". Expect a few small touch-ups/minor imperfections. There is also an oil leak...likely from the pan gasket, quite common on any car over 10 years old.
INVESTMENT POTENTIAL - is high. There was NO car anywhere in the world in 1998 that had all the features of this car (i.e. 32-valve ohv V8, 1st car in US to have Xenon headlamps, Neon tail-light, side-view mirror LED turn indicators and puddle lamps, and 4-wheel Independent Air Suspension). Hagerty's recently published a "Top 25" list of cars on the collector market, and the 1993-1998 Mark VIIIs were TIED at #11 with 1955-1959 Chevy Trucks and a couple other vehicles.
TERMS OF SALE - Bank to Bank Wire Transfer or Cash, sale of the car is final and strictly as-is without any warranties or liabilities - I hope the new owner is able to enjoy the car for many miles before any repairs are needed, but the need for a repair can come without notice at any time and is simply a "fact of life" for those choosing to own, cherish, and drive vintage/classic cars.
PLEASE...NO TEXTING...IF YOU ARE SERIOUSLY INTERESTED, LET'S TALK!
