I am the second owner of this 1999 (06/99) F-250. I bought it in 2004 from the original owner (my former boss) with 89,000 miles on it. It’s been in New Mexico its entire life so the dry climate here has kept this truck rust free, also no hail damage. It’s never been wrecked (I did however back into my employees truck in 2006 and had to have the passenger side bed repaired). It’s a great truck in great condition. It’d be hard to find another one like this that’s been this well cared for. It was my daily driver up until I bought a 2018 F-150 a year ago. I’ve hauled 5th wheel campers, boats and a dump trailer with it. It’s a solid truck that runs great. It hasn’t been without its share of problems……so listed below are repairs and upgrades I’ve done in the 15 years I’ve owned it (based on my memory and maintenance log).

Aftermarket stuff:
Kenwood DDX9902s Apple Car Play double din head unit with SiriusXM tuner (not activated)
Two back up cameras. One on the back bumper (Kenwood) and one built into the third brake light for bed/hitch view
Kenwood Excelon 4 channel amp
Kenwood Excelon mono sub amp
Two JL Audio 8w1’s in a ported box
JL Audio C5-653 components in the front door and custom kick panels
JL Audio C5-525 components in rear door in custom lower door panels
Viper 5701 two-way alarm/remote start
Escort 9500ci radar (old but still works, does false alert on some new vehicles with collision avoidance technology)
Stinger Road Kill sound damping applied to the whole interior. Headliner was pulled so entire roof could be covered, seats and carpet pulled so entire floor could be covered, back firewall under rear window was covered and all door panels removed so inner and outer door skins could be covered.
Locking tailgate handle with power lock assemble tied into power door locks
Aftermarket rear view mirror with compass and temperature.
Solar Gard ceramic window film installed in the summer of 2016. Clear ceramic on the windshield (Solar Gard UP 70). 20% ceramic on 4 door glass (Solar Gard UP20) and 10% ceramic on back glass (Solar Gard UP10). I had replaced the rear sliding window many years ago so the glass is clear, that’s why I tinted it darker.
HomeLink 3 button garage door opener installed into headliner
AMP power step boards installed in 2005. I have since replaced the controller and added their lighting kit to the underside at each step location
Heise bumper led lights added to reverse lights (these babies are bright)
Race Sport under bed rail lighting kit
Race Sport HID high and low beam bulbs
Recon projector style headlights, led tail lights and third brake light (installed 2012)
T-Rex billet aluminum front grill (complete grill assembly, not the cheap ones you have to cut in and mount yourself)
OEM Ford Bug deflector
B&W Turn Over Ball Hitch
Edge Evolution Programmer (I put this one when I bought the truck in 2004 or slightly after that, it’s been way too long to remember)
The “BAD” stuff
- Paint is starting to flake off on the driver’s side bed near the 4X4 sticker (I have new OEM decals I was going to put on but noticed the paint wasn’t right, decals come with truck)
- Tailgate and bed: inside of tailgate is dented from a big landscaping rock I tried to roll out of my bed in 2011 and the bed has a small dent from the rock as well. The paint on the tailgate is a little scuffed from a padded cover I put on to carry my mountain bikes. A little paint correction should have it looking great in no time.
- Paint: original (with exception to passenger bed side....see above) but in great condition. Some small nicks and scratches, what one would expect for a 242k mile truck.
- F-250 fender emblems are faded
- Wiper arms faded
- Small crack on the dash next to the stereo (I wanted to throat punch my installer when he worked on my truck adding the 2nd camera)
- Steering box has some play in it, not horrible but it’s not perfect
- Drivers rear window motor is slow in the cold. Still goes all the way up and down. It operates at normal speed when it’s hot outside.
