Vehicle Description
I bought this truck with 48,000 miles and have driven it the last 14 years. One prior owner. Inspected through December. Regular maintenance and care. Replaced ball joints, leaf spring mount, and alternator over the years. Rhino lining. All-season tires purchased last year have ~5K miles on them. Has only been through 6 VT winters and most mechanics comment on the good condition of the frame.
I noticed a piston misfire a few months ago and replaced the spark plugs and coils. The #6 cylinder is still at half the compression of the others. Will require work to get it back to 100%. KBB values it between $2,000 and $4,000.
I took the truck to a local transmission mechanic who verified it was the piston and that the transmission is in great shape. With some work on the engine, this pickup could easily get to 200,000 miles.
