Vehicle Description
Selling a 1999 Mercury Mountaineer with 259022 miles. I purchased it in 2015 in Portland, OR from the owner of several AAMCO service centers. At that point it had 218145 miles. He had bought it for his daughter, and had the transmission completely rebuilt, as well as giving the car a complete tuneup.
Gonna be honest about the issues so I don't waste your time. We spun out on an ice patch in Montana while driving to NY and hit a small pole, which broke the rear passenger window and caused a few scrapes and dents. Window has been replaced, but it no longer works. At one point we backed into a dumpster, dented the rear and cracked the bumper. Title is still clean though. I've included photos of all damage.
The locks are starting to get sticky. It can be tricky to open the car with the keys, but the remote works fine.
We stopped driving it in October 2017 because of issues with the brakes. Brought it to Schraders on South Clinton, they reported that the emergency brake and the rear calipers weren't disengaging. Said that it would be about 2-3k to repair, and my wife wanted something newer so we opted not to repair and have had it in the driveway since then. Battery has recently been recharged.
Interior is in good condition. No damage to the leather seats. Working sun roof. Has a six disc CD player if you drive through a time portal into an era where people still use CDs. Has a tow hitch installed, connections worked last time we used it.
I can provide documentation of work done by AAMCO. Engine is in great condition given age and miles, and this car would be a great deal for anyone who knows their way around a pair of brakes. I'm leaving town in a few weeks and need this out of my driveway.
