Vehicle Description
It’s time to sell the Z3 that I have been building over the last 2 years. The chassis was purchased from Southern, MO, but spent most of its life in Tennessee. It currently has 120k miles. I have been all over this vehicle and have not found rust anywhere. I will attempt to list some of the main components below, but I also have nearly every receipt for every part or service that has gone into this build. Car was originally a 2.8L 5 speed and was well equipped from the factory. I replaced the convertible top, door handles, seats, and various interior parts when I first acquired the vehicle. Factory power windows, locks, keyless entry, alarm, lights, gauges, and heat all perform flawlessly. The powertrain starts with a low mileage (70k allegedly) aluminum 5.7L LS1 short block with an MTI stage 2 cam? Installed. Rebuilt and resurfaced 243 heads with BTR push rods and an LS6 intake/rails/injectors complete the top end. I purchased CXracing e36 swap mounts and headers and modified them to work in the Z3 chassis. All new OEM GM gaskets and timing covers were also installed. I have put nearly 4,000 miles on this car and recently replaced the factory LS1 clutch with a Spec stage 1 clutch and couldn’t find a drop of fluid leaking from any of the joints. I used a wiring specialties universal swap harness and recoded the gauge cluster to accept the correct analog signals. I also installed a Randy Forbes subframe brace kit, M3 diff cover, and Ireland racing subframe bushings to ensure the rear end was ready to go. BC racing coilovers set to -2 degrees camber as well as numerous energy suspension bushings/mounts round off the suspension setup. Powerstop rotors and pads are also installed. The car was dyno tuned at Grawmondbecks last year and made 390RWHP with the stock 2.25” factory BMW exhaust. I have since installed a full 3” system with a magnaflow muffler. This car should make well over the 400HP to wheels in current form. The car weighed in at 2980lbs completely wet. This is one of the most fun, best handling vehicles I have ever driven. I have loads of pictures/videos/receipts available to view. Why buy a C5 Vette like everyone else, when you could own something faster, more unique, and more fun?
