Vehicle Description
This is the original fast SUV of the modern era. The ML55 defined the now-popular performance SUV genre, and was a low-production model way ahead of its time. This car is an absolute beast! It has a fast & rock-solid engine, in the body of an old-school Mercedes that has proven to be reliable and inexpensive to fix.
I searched for about 8 months to find the right ML55 AMG (must have red brake calipers!) I bought it as a fun daily driver, but ended up deciding that I want something more modern, and purchased a Macan.
The good:
-Has been my daily driver without issue for several months. It took me from CA to Portland, 650 miles in 10 hours, with zero problems.
-Paint has held up very well over time, with no clear coat damage on the body.
-Everything on the interior works- power windows, locks, sunroof, stereo, heat, AC.
-New Weathertech floor mats.
-Newer tires with over 80% tread remaining.
-Spark plugs & ignition coils were replaced less than 20k miles ago.
-Just had an oil change, coolant flush, brake fluid flush, and transmission fluid flush. This is standard practice for me when I buy a new used car. I have these service receipts from my ownership, all done at reputable specialist shops.
The bad:
-The leather dye on the front seats is worn in some places. I bought a leather reconditioning kit, which I'm happy to give to the new owner. There are no cracks or tears.
-Brakes occasionally squeal. This hasn't bothered me, and they still have 60% usable life remaining so it seems silly to replace them now.
-Front bumper has been repainted, and some imperfections can be noticed when examined closely.
Title in hand. Has almost two full years of Oregon registration prepaid for. This is a unique chance to buy a reliable, fully-functioning, fast SUV for less than 10% of what it cost new. I will only consider offers made in person, email offers will be ignored.
Please note that I travel frequently for work, so my availability to show the car may require some advance planning.
