Vehicle Description
2001 BMW 325iT Sport Touring Wagon Manual 5SP RWD E46
This is a well maintained Sport Touring wagon in great mechanical condition. It was originally a California car and it was brought to Massachusetts in 2012. It is a smoke-free, pet-free, child-free car, so the interior is clean and free of rips. Only 200 Sport Manual Wagons were produced in 2001, so it is a hard-to-find configuration. This car comes from a 4-BMW household (all manuals), but had to replace the wagon with an automatic car due to a knee injury.
The car has had performance upgrades done: upgraded suspension, Turner subframe plates and AKG polyurethane subframe bushings, it is arguably the closest you can get to an M3 wagon and it handles great! Good enough to race autocross!
This car has ALWAYS been professionally maintained, it belonged to the wife of a BMW shop owner in California, and it has been under the care of German Performance Services in Boston, which is an outstanding shop. There is a large stack of maintenance receipts to document the services done to the car since new.
This car was hit once in the front, but there was no structural damage of any sort and the airbags did not deploy. The hood, bumper and lights were replaced with parts from a Florida donor car. German Performance Services gave it a clean bill of health!
As far as shortcomings, the New England winters have caused some of the typical BMW rust spots to surface in the last year (surface rust on interior rocker panels, quarter sized paint bubbling in rear quarter panels). The driver seat's forward-and-back switch (which was replaced last year) just decided to stop working. The A/C blows cool, but not cold, it may need the condenser replaced.
