2001 BMW 540i with 2 previous owners beside myself.
Great car that I would not be selling but, I have moved out of the country. The engine will run for another 200,000 miles, at least. Inspection is good until April 2020. AC still blows very cold, if that's something that matters to you.
I have all previous service records and records for the following major repairs:
All recalls and other repairs prior to my purchase in 2014
Timing Chains and Timing Chain Guides
Valve Cover Gaskets
Water Pump and belts
Fuel Pump
DME (with a 5 year warranty which I will email after purchase)
Right front lower control arm
Right rear upper control arm
Airbag replacement (recent recall)
Detailing
I have purchase receipts for OEM parts for repairs that I did myself:
Rotors, Brake Pads, and Brake Sensors
Front left fender
Front left side mirror cover
Rear tail lights
Cam shaft position sensors
Spark Plugs and various bulbs
Rubber Mats
Front Grills
Regular oil changes, regular fluid maintenance
Likely other small things that I am forgetting about now
Current issues:
I hydroplaned on 64 early this year. The rear quarter panels are a bit dented as shown in the images. No damage to the engine - but, that's where the cosmetic damage comes from. The bumper-covers have a bit of damage, as well (pictured.) The car passed inspection in the state that it is currently in, however... The radio and CD player were damaged and have not been replaced. Front windshield needs a new lining (quoted at around $150 from local glass shops.) Replacing all the fuses would be a good idea (which you can do for about 20 bucks.) Finally, the car needs periodic wheel alignments because of something the previous owner must have run-over... Also, I have the number of a good local car-body guy that can do great work for cheap, if you want it.
Purchase will include:
Full spare and extra donut
Various bulbs and sensors
ODB2 Scanner
Jumper cables, tire pressure gauge, etc.
Elevation ramps
Gas cans
Various fluids
Full Manual in PDF format (which I will also email after purchase)
This is a great car, again, and will service the new owner for many years to come with just a little TLC over time. That said, I won't consider, or be nice about, low-ball offers... so really, don't waste my time or yours. This is a good price-point considering the repairs I listed above (which KBB does NOT consider.)
EMAIL ME WITH YOUR NAME AND NUMBER IN THE SUBJECT - this way I know you are serious and I can more easily filter out the piles of spam that I will inevitably get for posting this on CL. I will call or text you after that - my good friend in Crozet has been kind enough to take over the sale for me since I am not in the US... I will put any serious buyers in touch with him. Thanks.
