I bought this at an auction and I don’t need it. It definitely needs a little tlc but I drove it back from Maryland 5 and a half hours and it gave me no problems - so mechanically l, the engine seems pretty good even with the higher mileage. It didn’t overheat or have a lack of power; no issues with the transmission or brakes. That’s the good.
What needs work:
It’s filthy and just badly needs to be cleaned up. Once I got up to 65-70 mph, there was a shimmy happening - it honestly just felt like unbalanced tires and I’d bet money that’s what it is. There’s a headlight out for sure and I don’t know if there are other lights out. Just fixing the lights should get it to pass inspection (although I havent checked the condition of all 6 tires). The body is the biggest issue - the back doors need some attention because the latch doesn’t feel very secure on the second door. One of the latches on the outside doors is broken and being held with a bungee cord. Another door is just screwed closed with plywood and looks like the door is missing. I’m not sure if any of them lock. There are some other more cosmetic things but this is a work truck.
All that being said: THE PRICE REFLECTS THE WORK THAT NEEDS TO BE DONE. It seems to all be pretty minor stuff (new latch handles all around might be kind of costly but maybe could find at a junkyard?). If there aren’t any takers around this price, I will begin to tinker with it, and as I check these things off the list, the price will go up. I just want it gone and I don’t need another project right now. This work truck could be a good starter for someone to make money with while they save for something better.
