2001 Jeep Cherokee Sport

Overall condition is great for her age, I’ve owned it since 2015 and have had all regular maintenance and upkeep performed on schedule.

Engine: Runs beautifully, no check engine light. I change oil, flush radiator and perform regular maintenance like spark plugs and such. The oil pressure sensor was just replaced as I was getting an occasional warning light on dash but didn’t do the trick. Either got a bum sensor or the wires need addressing. Doesn’t affect the way it runs so…

Suspension: I would rebuild the front end, bushings ball joints…. It occasionally makes some noise from the front when turning/bumps. Rear Springs are sagging and would be a better ride if replaced. The rear sway bar needs to be replaced, it broke at the rear wheel somehow. I only notice a wobble on the hiway at speeds over 70-75mph.

Gas Tank: The gas level sensor works about 50 percent of the time, its not trustworthy. I keep a couple gallons in the trunk just in case. I put a new pump in a couple years ago but must have screwed up the float… There is an EVAP leak somewhere in the rear of the system as well it does not affect engine light but you have to watch it when your filling up.

Muffler: Needs replacing sometime soon.

Air Conditioning: Doesn’t work, doesn’t bother me.

Body: Some small dings here and there. Rust: Frame seems good with just surface rust. Rocker panels could be replaced. Surface rust on flat of hood and roof. Floor pans seem solid.

Interior: Decent shape, some seat tears…
