Every used car has a story and this one is a bit complex.

This vehicle starts fine and has a smooth idle. However, when you drive it, the vehicle performs fine for a short drive then “balks” at random intervals and eventually gets progressively worse and stalls out requiring many restarts till it won’t run until the codes are cleared.

The vehicle overheated months ago and blew a head gasket so we took that opportunity to pull the engine and rebuild it with new timing chain, head gasket, spark plugs, water pump, ignition coils and piston rings.

I will allow you to test drive it but you MUST stay in my immediate neighborhood as otherwise I am concerned you will get stranded somewhere !

Price this week is $1,700 - not negotiable! I repeat - not negotiable !

After one week, the price will be reduced to $1,600 - not negotiable.

After another week, the price will be reduced to $1,500 - not negotiable

etc. etc. etc.

I am not a mechanic and I honestly have no idea what’s wrong with the car. I’ve given up on it !

Also of note: the vehicle has four electric windows of which two do not work. The driver side front window DOES work.

Finally, the battery is only one year old but it the car sits for a couple of weeks, the battery needs to be charged as there seems to be an electrical “drain”.

I am wondering if the battery “drain” issue is related to the “balking” issue. Just speculation on my part.
