Vehicle Description
Limited edition vintage restorable 2001 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS project car or for parts. Black with Black Interior, Power Everything, Heated Leather Seats, On star, SS 3.8 V-6 model. FWD, Sport Appearance Package, Keyless Entry, Fog Lights, Spoiler, Alloy Wheels.
Needs TLC - only 128,412 miles on original motor.
I'm the 2nd owner, bought it well-maintained with 57K miles. It sat in the driveway mostly from 2007-2014; used occasionally for trip across the state or else driving kids around a 2 mile radius in a rural town.
The transmission was rebuilt for $3,200 about 4.000 miles ago.
Mid 2020 before co-vid, I had $900 in brakes put on. Then lost my job, so the car sat. When I took it in for oil change recently they said it had valve cover gasket leak from sitting.
Have receipts for repairs/oil changes since 2016.
Needs a new battery, car doesn't start without jump, since new the steering noise along with need to replace valve cover gasket, it has to be towed from current location.
Doors are rusted at bottom, needs paint touch ups of scratches, passenger rear quarter side swiped - saw that rockauto has reasonable replacement quarter-panels for someone who has knowledge, tools and space to repair.
In need of either EGR or MAP tube cleaning, check engine light goes on and off according to temperature outside.
Needs rims (got tires in 2014) the air leaks out of right rear tire, have been filling but now possible steering issue from it, noise turning wheels when in gear. Needs new door seals + wiring running down under passenger floor to be re-spliced so stereo speakers work, also needs a driver window switch (works but sticky).
Brand new in 2001 it cost over $34K - still maintaining value, searched similar cars in better condition that are currently selling for $6,000-$10,000. A great car to restore and keep or re-sell.
Asking $1750 as is.
Cash only. If interested please reply via email only thru cl; low-balls not answered.
