Vehicle Description
I have a 2001 Montero with just a little rust and sunburn that I've had forever. The car looks pretty good outside and pretty darn good inside. Everything works except the back AC/Heat, its in essence a 4wd minivan with a HUGE sunroof that fully opens (your passengers can stand up through it like they are on safari), big tires that have a deathgrip on the road in winter, etc. Yes its quirky but with about 340,000 miles (yes, you read that right) I'd be a little cranky myself. One of the pullys wobbles on occasion. I *think* the new thermostat housing drips now and then. I'll probably fix that this weekend. Minor stuff.
Truth is it runs very well, its super safe, and I love it. I don't love the 14-15 MPG it gets though. It has GPS, a dash DVD player, LOTS of room, seating for 7, a cargo space big enough to carry trees or whatever huge thing you want. 8' 2x4s fit inside with the door closed. Never mind there's a rack on top for carrying stuff strapped down. It has super nice front seat covers. You'll feel like these puny e-cars are ants compared to the colossus that is the Montero. And it is SUPER comfortable to drive.
