I love this car, and it's a wrench to part with it – but I need a larger car, so it's time my baby finds a new home. Only 80,000 miles on this car. Why? Because it began its life in Hawaii! I bought it from the man who shipped it to the mainland. He bought it used from an Acura dealer on the island. I purchased it from him in 2010, so my understanding is that I am the third owner. As for me, I work from my home office, so I just don't put too many miles on my cars. And that's how you end up with a 2002 with only 80K miles!
I just moved to Omaha from Los Angeles, so this is a California car. That means NO RUST. And mechanically, it's perfect. It's the most reliable car I've ever owned. I've taken excellent care of it: always premium gasoline, oil changes every 3-5K miles, etc. (Full service history is in the glove box along with the Owner's Manual.) Of note:
- Pirelli Cinturato P7 Tires w/ only ~12K miles on them
- Optima RedTop AGM Battery (replaced last June)
- GROM Bluetooth receiver (just in case that 6-disc CD changer is a bit too old-school for you ;-)
- ProClip cell phone holder on a KUDA custom leather-upholstered mount (translation: it's a super-cool, super-premium $100+ phone mount)
As mentioned, buying a California car has its advantages – but that California sun can be harsh, and this car was parked outside for the past decade. So, cosmetically, this car shows the effects. Please see the pics. The clear coat is faded and flaking in various places on the car. The leather on the driver's seat is cracked (which is why I have a cover on it… solves that problem!). The dashboard also has a crack all the way across it from the heat. The car has a variety of door dings and bumper kisses. Also, some lovely Angeleno thought it would be fun to run a key along the trunk. You get the idea. Nothing catastrophic, here – just what you might imagine cosmetically for a 2002 that's spent much of its life parked outside. Anything else? The stereo controls (volume, seek button, etc) can be a bit flaky. The trunk release inside the car doesn't work (the button on the remote does, though.) Again, the standard sorts of superficial things you might expect from a 20-year-old car.
But mechanically, this car is an absolute champ. I've never had a problem with the engine. Ever. This car has never left me stranded. I have no doubt it has another 100+K miles left in it. And I'm hoping to find someone who will enjoy it for those 100K.
I will accept cash only. (If you'd prefer, I will accept a cashier's check if I can accompany you to your bank to see it drawn from your account. That will be a good opportunity to get the bill of sale notarized, too!)
