Vehicle Description
For sale is a 2002 Audi S6 Avant (wagon) with 146k miles. This is a California car that was brought to MN in 2016 when I purchased it from a local dealership (Will Dicker in Shakopee) who specializes in used Audi/German autos. When purchased in 2016 with 125k miles, the car had the following performed at Anderson Motorsport pre-purchase:
New front CV boot, Continental DWS tires, new front brake pads, new billet intake arms. The car did not come with any maintenance records from previous owner but the car fax shows the car originally being purchased in Boulder, CO and then all maintenance updates prior to MN at an Audi/Porsche dealership in Beverly Hills, CA. The mechanic noted that there were markings for timing belt replacement being done at 120k.
Since then, the car has received a new radiator and a replacement transmission with ~135k on it. After a problem with the old radiator and the transmission cooling lines, the original trans had to be replaced when the radiator was done. Donor trans came from an identical S6 Avant that was getting a 6 speed swap. No codes or issues with transmission in current state. Work was completed by Tipcke Performance.
Recent maintenance:
-New battery was put in this spring
-There was a slight leak from the radiator where the transmission fluid cooling lines meets it - the O-Ring was replaced and transmission fluid topped up - fluid was still very fresh from the trans replacement so a flush was not necessary.
Pros:
-Relatively clean and low mile (for year) car that has only spent 3 winters in MN and shows no surface rust
-Powerful V8 AWD wagon is fun to drive and provides a lot of utility with the space and ability to perform in all conditions
-This car was only produced in 2002-2003 so there aren’t a ton of them around, especially with less than 150k miles
Cons:
-After driving on the terrible MN roads for a few years, the car admittedly does not drive as smooth as it did when purchased, but with some minor suspension work and an alignment I think it will feel good as new.
-There are a handful of minor plastic things that have broken like the front left headlight sprayer cover and the front of the dash cup holder. I have not gotten around to fixing these but the parts can be found easily online as they are standard in any C5 chassis Audi.
Exterior:
-Brilliant Black paint is in pretty good shape for how old it is. There are plenty of small scratches and rock chips but from a cars length away it looks almost brand new. This paint can be worked and improved a lot by someone who knows how to detail Audi paint.
-Rust free
-Rear bumper has some larger scratch marks and the plastic under portion is cracked
Interior:
-Black Leather with dark grey Alcantara headliner in great shape
-Lumbar support does not work on driver seat but all other seat functions work
-Heated front and back seats
I’m sure there are things I’m missing so please contact me for more details or with any questions you might have. Clean title in hand!
