Vehicle Description
I'm selling my old beloved Certified-Preowned 2002 Beamer that I've had for years with no engine problems. It's had only two non-smoking owners (the guy who returned it to the dealership as a lease return and myself). We already have one of two other vehicles that I drive so I just need to move this one out of our garage. I have the paperwork for any previous maintenance, repairs, and purchase of tires. I'll take best offer based on comps/repairs.
Here's the list of standard and premium features/specs:
- V-6, manual/stick-shift 5-speed transmission
- Premium Harman Karmon surround-sound speakers
- Premium cold-weather package (ABS brakes* and heated front seats)
- Black leather seats
- Front dual air bags
- Single-disk CD player
- Cruise and volume controls on the steering wheel
- Power steering, windows, locks*, and front seats
- Has two keys*
- Sunroof and fog lights
- Stability and traction control
- Side mirror goes down when going in reverse/parking
- Dark gray/charcoal exterior with black interior/carpeting
- Brown wood-look paneling on the doors and front dash
- Runs on premium gas and synthetic oil*
- Has a relatively new oil separator (as of 3/2019), which gave the car back its original zippiness
- New registration tag and passed smog (as of 6/2022)
- Interior is clean without rips or tears
- No issues with the body frame
- Spare tire in the trunk with the minimal tools in the top of the trunk door
- Paint is in great condition, no oxidation on paint, with normal wear to the hood
For a used 2002 Beamer, these are the items that could be fixed on your own, as recommended by a mechanic (the top several list items with an asterisk), and/or as you wish for lesser concerning items:
* Differential mount
* Control arm bushings
* Engine and transmission mounts
* Oil leak from a hose being worn and the oil pan gasket - I always keep oil in the car because of this so I'd be happy to get it fixed if you like (roughly a $350 fix, negotiable with price)
- The locking/unlocking mechanism off the keys no longer work as of last year so the keys need to be used manually on the driver's side (or inside the car) to unlock the doors and the trunk until fixed; I'd recommend fixing for convenience
* Front shocks could be replaced
- ABS (anti-lock brake system) module is internally faulty - two of my mechanics said this isn't a high priority item since we don't get a lot of inclement weather in San Diego and it doesn't directly impact drivability
- Interior gray fabric on the ceiling could use replacing, which I've seen happen on these older models due to heat/UVs
- The plastic hinges to the center leather-covered console/arm rest and the ash tray lid have broken so these likely can be replaced with used console from a stock yard
- Corner fender surface scratches (no rust or major dents)
If you'd like to see more photos, just ask and I'll post more.
