Vehicle Description
2002 Ford F150 4x4
I am the 3rd owner, I know the 2 previous owners...
This was my daily driver for the past 4 years, 95% Highway for commuting downstate. Truck has been used very little in the past year, I now live across the street from my work.
I am an engineer, and specialize in preventative maintenance for manufacturing facilities, and apply the same principles to my vehicles. Therefore, the following parts have been replaced (all new, never used), most before failure except the exhaust manifold and alternator...
*2017
Idler Pulley
Passenger side Exhaust Manifold and Studs
HEI Coils and Plugs
Engine Dipstick Repair (Weld Bracket, was a common issue on this model)
Rear Diff Fluid
U-Joints
Rear Leaf Spring Shackles
Tailgate and New Latch Mechanism
*2018
Headlights
Tailights
ECM
Ignition Module
Ignition Switch
Trans Fluid, Filter and Gasket
Entire Front End Steering (over $800)
Transmission Line
*2019
Battery
Tires (Maybe 2000 miles since installed in March)
Windshield
Pass side Exhaust Manifold (Warranty)
Alternator
Serpentine Belt
Pass Upper Control Arm (Warranty)
Pass Front Wheel Bearing
New Rim (Dealership found a crack in the factory weld when new tires installed)
*Additional Points of Interest*
-Religious Oil Changes
-ABS light has been on since I purchased it, was never an issue for me
-4 way pigtail has not worked since I bought it, however the 7 way works, so I use an adapter-
-Has a trailer brake, not sure if it works but it lights up, I towed a trailer 4 years ago for 52 miles and it worked then, have not tried it since...rarely tow trailers...
-Installed A/C bypass with new belt and pulleys, therefore no AC...
-Key Fobs do not work, when the new ECM was installed the dealership could not guarantee they could reprogram it correctly to the FOBS and wanted $125 just to try, so I declined....
-When going up steep hills under full power, it seems to take a bit to shift into OD, it doesn't slip, it just takes longer than I think it should...(vacuum leak?), but if I switch it to Tow/Haul it doesn't do it...
-You don't turn the key all the way to ignition stop to start it, you turn it 7/8ths, has never failed to start, its just kind of different...
-Has never burned oil, but "uses" 1/2 a quart every 2000 miles...there is no carbon on the exhaust...does not smoke, but I think it goes past the valve seals? The good news is that is has done it for the past 4 years, has not gotten worse, just something to be aware of...
Truck runs strong, has been well cared for, 4x4 works as it should, has Never leaked a drop of oil from engine, tranny, transfer case, or rear diff...not a drop...
Also has a seat cover and Husky floor liners, tonneau cover, and plastic bed liner, truck has the typical rust for the year and model...
Has many good years left, would drive it to California tomorrow, your won't find a truck that has been more cared for and maintained...
Fuel is 3/4 tank....
I'm at $2000 firm, have more than that invested in the past 12 months...
Thanks for looking....No Texts, No Emails...Cash Only...
