Vehicle Description
2002 Jeep Liberty—Limited Edition 4WD—New Engine
VIN: 1J4GL58K02W175240
We bought this Jeep from the original owner in 2013. Since then, she’s been driven around Atlanta and to/from Cleveland, TN during my daughter’s college years. She graduated in May and will be overseas for two years with the Peace Corps. So we’ve decided to part with the Jeep.
• Mileage: 175K (rebuilt engine installed at 145K miles)
• Exterior Color: Patriot Blue
• Interior Color: Dark Grey
• Engine: 6-cylinder
• Fuel: Gasoline
• Transmission: Automatic
• Drive Train: 4WD
• Doors: 5 Doors (4 + Tail Door & Hatch Window)
• Tires: Excellent (4 x Michelin LTX 215-75-R16) + full-sized spare
In 2016, we installed a rebuilt engine, new air conditioning compressor, new radiator, new power steering pump, belts, hoses, etc. Since then, we’ve done normal repairs and regular maintenance.
In recent weeks, we got an engine tune up, installed new rear-brake hydraulics, got a front-end alignment, changed the oil, installed new wiper blades, and made similar improvements. The tires are in excellent condition—Michelin LTX are the best tires available for SUVs.
True Story:
In 2014, an ice storm locked down Atlanta for days (aka Snowmageddon or Snowpocalypse). This Jeep was, quite literally, a life saver. Around 2:00 pm we ventured out to rescue stranded and freezing family members, neighbors, friends, and strangers. Throughout the night, the Jeep performed like a CHAMP, crawling slowly over ice-covered roads, and weaving through thousands of abandoned vehicles scattered in every direction, blocking virtually every street across the city. Many other (heavier) 4x4s foundered all around us—we winced as they slipped into ditches, crashed into stranded cars, even slid backwards down ice-slick hills. By contrast, this Jeep maneuvered like a wildcat, squeezing through tight gaps, traversing snow-covered sidewalks, tracking over frozen lawns, climbing up and down roadside hills, and sneaking around police barricades to reach and rescue our stranded targets. We concluded our great adventure close to dawn the next day—I gave her a pat on the hood and went to bed—nicely done.
• Alloy Wheels
• CD / Cassette / Radio
• Fold-Flat Seats
• Power Locks
• Power Windows
• Side Airbags
• Tinted Glass
• Many others . . .
