Vehicle Description
2002 Jeep Wrangler TJ SE Sport
2 Door Convertible
2.5l inline 4-cylinder engine
5 Speed Manual Transmission
4x4 4WD (hi and lo)
The ultimate Kauai adventure vehicle! Take it off-roading in the mud or the sand. Super fun at polihale out in the sand.
This rugged Jeep has only 102,xxx miles and drives great! Patriot blue exterior, black leather seats and steering wheel. In excellent mechanical condition. This is a classic Jeep that is reliable and easy to maintain and continually going up in value!
Recent work:
New battery and battery terminals.
Replaced water pump and serpentine belt (commonly incorrectly called a timing belt).
Replaced valve cover gasket and painted valve cover.
Rampage sailcover frameless soft top. Totally waterproof, no leaks. Easy to convert into safari/bikini top!
Older work (previous owner):
Upgraded sound system w/ bluetooth and USB.
New halogen headlights.
Surf rack with board guards and straps, side steps, and oversized tires.
Mostly gutted interior. No cloth/fabric, just leather, metal, and plastic.
Also includes:
Original half doors with sliding glass uppers! Very rare and a joy to cruise around with!
Leather back row
Detachable trunk locker
A second Bikini top and 2 cargo nets
Replacement driver and passenger seat belt kits
Needs:
There is very little exterior rust damage, but there are some interior spots that should be patched. Particularly around the seat belt anchor on the driver side. Replacement seat belts are included to follow the repair. I intended to get this repaired but didn't get around to it.
Other things:
No AC. Headlights work but LEDs would be better on Kauai.
The vehicle has had a worn out bushing at the linkage between the clutch pedal and clutch actuator arm. This is a $5 bushing that can be replaced by hand, but may easily get worn out again by the metal mount on the clutch pedal. Alternatively, I've had a mechanic install a more durable solution, and that has not failed once yet. But if the original attachment is preferred, you can easily DIY. This is a common issue on TJ Jeeps.
If you want an offroad-ready Jeep, that is also a great base for further customization, and with low enough miles to even be a daily driver, then look no further!
