Vehicle Description
144K original miles. No check engine light on dash.
Manual transmission 5-speed. If you can't drive stick PLEASE look elsewhere for a car. Stupid offers will be ignored. Read this whole post then contact me to see and drive the car. Then we can talk price.
Old man owned since 2009. Just passed emissions E-check. Equipped with class 1 trailer hitch with 4 prong connector. Car runs and drives well. Never ran hard. This is my daily driver. Selling because I need more room and bought a van. Needs a few minor things if you care to bother with them. Listed below are what comes to mind. Many things done mechanically include:
At 111K miles received a complete new timing chain kit due to a collapsed tensioner. At that time the engine and oil pan were cleaned and desludged after which only synthetic engine oil was used.
In the past 18 months:
~~New clutch. Flywheel professionally resurfaced. 5K miles on new clutch!
~~New brake pads, rotors and new calipers were installed all around. The rear brake lines replaced with nickel-copper alloy tubing to resist corrosion.
~~Complete new exhaust from cat back installed.
~~Battery replaced.
~~Ignition coil cassette replaced with OEM coil from Goldwing Saab in New York.
~~ Spark plugs.
~~ Water pump and serpentine belt.
~~Bypass air valve for the turbo.
Car has heated seats and side mirrors. Real nice for winter.
Car has oversize tires ( SUV ) mounted for wintertime. Lots of tread. Runs good in snow and ice. Car goes down the road straight and quiet but they rub the inner fenders when you turn the wheel and that is very noisy. Head turner in a parking lot but very nice road tires.
THE BAD:
#Car is basically a beater with a heater. Repair or drive it like it is. Priced accordingly. Keep reading for full disclosure.
#Interior is dirty and stained. Could use scrubbed or drive it like it is.
#Car needs both rear window regulators replaced. the windows are held closed with door stops.
# The hydraulic arms on the rear hatch are shot. I use a wood rod shown in photos to hold up the hatch.
#The front stabilizer bar bushings sound worn and will make a sound over bumps, but the steering stays straight and solid.
#The oil cooler has a tiny leak. I have a new OEM one included in its box.
#The O-ring didn't seat properly when I installed the new water pump and seeps coolant. I just add some to the overflow tank when prompted to occasionally. I have resisted the urge to add head gasket sealer to the system but buyer can do that and probably cure the leak.
Car is due for an oil change. I have extra rims and tires available including the original with good tread. Car is 20 years old and there are nit-picky things as any older car has. The price is negotiable somewhat but don't make stupid offers and waste both of our time. Thank you.
