Vehicle Description
Selling my 2002 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD, extended cab, long bed. It's got the 8.1L/496c.i. Vortec big block with the 5sp Allison transmission, 4WD, and 179,113mi at the time of posting this ad. It's just a tow vehicle for me, so the miles won't go up that much. I've had this truck for a little under 2 months. I had a really nice 97 C3500 dually that I used to tow our camper, but a friend of mine offered me a deal on this truck that I couldn't pass up. So, I sold the dually to pay off a large credit card bill of ours, and kept this truck to finish towing our camper for the season. We just got back from our last trip, so I no longer need this truck either. I'm going to buy new next season...
Since I've had it, I've done new brake lines over the axle, and new hoses up front, a new muffler, oil change, and I also bought a spare set of aluminum wheels and new tires as well. The tires that came with the truck had less than 25k mi on them with really good tread left. But, the truck did a lot of sitting, so the tires were aged a bit. Better safe than sorry when towing our camper with my family in the truck!
My friend took very good care of the truck while he had it, as stated with the stack of paperwork he gave me. Some items he had replaced include; new brake lines in 2012, transfer case and starter in 2014, and plugs/wires in 2015 (which was only 17k mi ago), among other things as well.
The 2 glaring issues the truck currently has would be, the ABS light is on due to needing a new module, and it has an exhaust leak on the driver side manifold. Or course, it's not a brand new truck anymore, it's got the rust that almost all trucks of these years get, and some squeaks/rattles. But, it'll still make a great work truck for someone who needs one! This 8.1/Allison combo is more than impressive, the power is unbelievable, and the Allison trans really makes this package! Towed our 7,000lb camper with ease.
Asking $4500 obo. Price can be negotiated with or without the new tires. Call, text, or email anytime within reason...7am-11pm
