Vehicle Description
You are looking at my 2002 Toyota 4Runner. This is 1 of the most desirable SUVs in America right now. Their values have been going thru the ceiling. I have owned many Toyota 4Runners and Land Cruisers over the years. These are the perfect vehicles for young drivers due to the fact they have an actual frame. I can personally attest to the fact that having a frame can literally mean the difference between life and death in an accident. This is an all original 2002 4runner that has 313,300 miles. That is obviously a lot of miles but I have seen Toyota 4runners, Land Cruisers, and trucks make it to 500K miles. I will go into great detail below about the pros and cons of this 4Runner. In a nutshell the pros are it runs really well and looks really good inside. The main con is that it does have rust. This 4Runner runs great. It drives surprisingly well. I have recently purchased some new parts that I will discuss down below. I feel this 4Runner is perfect for the 1st time driver. This 4Runner is ready to go as is. It is a numbers matching car. The color code matches the interior and exterior color scheme. Interior is in very good to excellent shape considering it has 300K miles. Seats look great. Carpet could use a shampoo. The interior is gray or silver. The exterior is a gold metallic color. Paint is in pretty good condition. There is rust on various spots of the car. Most rust is surface rust. The 2 main spots you see rusting thru is at the same point near the rear seats when you open the door. You can't see these spots when the doors are shut. But when you open the door you see the rusting. There are rust spots on the hood, both bumpers, running boards, corner panels down by the running boards, and underneath. If I bought this car I would spend about $50 on the black undercoating spray and spray the entire underneath side in order to coat and protect the frame and to give it a really clean look. I would also remove the 2 running boards. The 4Runner would look great with the 2 running boards removed and it would eliminate a lot of rust spots by doing so. Car is driving well. It has never been wrecked. It was involved with 1 fender bender in 2012 (no damage) and hit by a bicycle in 2018. I am generally conservative when it comes to grading cars. Comparing this to other Toyota 4Runners with 300K miles then this 4Runner is near the top of that heap. I would rate this 4Runner as an overall 7 out of 10. If there was no rust it would be much higher.
