Jet Black on Black Leather
VANOS: Yes
VAC Vanos hub installed in September 2019 with updated bolts. Eliminates the slack between the hub teeth and the VANOS oil pump disc, eliminating the problem.
Subframe: Yes
Subframe has BimmerWorld reinforcement plates welded and then painted. Along with PowerFlex polyurethane subframe bushings, differential bushings and RTAB bushings.
Rod Bearings: See below
The car came with the updated bearing and rod bolt design from the factory. Even so, the rod bearings were replaced under BMW warranty at 8k – see attached report. They have not been done since to my knowledge. However, see attached BlackStone Labs Oil Analysis report that states that bearing wear looks completely within spec. With the hype around S54 rod bearings, take these facts as you will.

Notes
- Nearly no rust. Normal surface wear on some nuts and bolts underneath the car.
- All fender and wheel wells clean with no signs of bubbling or any rust at all.
- Frame rails are all clean, subframes are clean.
- While it’s not a concours car, it’s a clean example of a highly desirable car that has been properly maintained and kept.
- Car spent most of its life in PA and VA.
- Oil pan is clean, head is clean - no major oil leaks whatsoever.
Cons
- Third gear synchros are on their way out. If you just let the shifter slide into gear, it’s fine. If you push or slam the car into third, it will grind.
- Paint is in overall good condition. With a few spots;
- Front bumper was painted fairly poorly. Paint is chipping around the lower splitters.
- Crack in the paint on the driver side door.
- Passenger side door lock actuator is showing it’s age. Will lock, but will only unlock when it feels like it.
Car has been owned by an enthusiast and CCA member. I’m selling this E46 M3 to get back into an E36 M3. Therefore, the only trades I would potentially be interested in would be for a clean E36 M3 coupe. Preferable Estoril Blue or Daytona/Techno Violet.
I’ve tried to address everything, good and bad, in this ad. If you have any further questions, please text or call me at show contact info . Car is located in Lakewood, Ohio - 5 minutes from downtown Cleveland.
