Vehicle Description
2003 Dodge Ram van 2500 5.2L 90,000 miles
I bought this van 3 years ago as my daily driver and as a fun camper for my wife and I. I bought it with 53,000 miles on it and since purchase I have done the below in service and added 37,000 miles of my own. The tuck has 90k miles on it now.
Stripped it down to metal and got rid of the bad Dodge primer and had it professionally painted with heavy industrial paint.
Custom roof rack welded and powder coated.
Installed a Joying android stereo which can store photos, play music, blue tooth to your phone and view the back up cam I also installed.
Sanded and rust prepped the roof and covered in truck bed liner.
Installed a bomar boat hatch in the roof for a sun/moonroof and ventilation.
Installed a solar boat vent for ventilation as well.
Built some simple storage boxes that have platform slots for a bed that can be removed for transporting your boards or motorcycle.
I installed a cubic mini stove in two 50 gallon drums for a heat shielding and to reflect the heat. Carbon monoxide and fire extinguisher installed as well and never have had any leaks or smoke.
The engine is a champ and has never had any issues but as preventative maintenance I put in last year fresh serpentine belt, tensioner, fresh radiator, hoses, water pump, transmission service - fluid flush and new solenoids, re-torqued bands and new gasket. Gear oil added to differentials, brake pads front and rear. The breaks I just service two months ago and the oil has always been regularly changed.
There is probably more I am forgetting but that’s the most of it.
My wife and I have used it as a daily driver and on weekends for surf trips or to transport our motorcycles. We’ve driven it up to Tofino Canada and back and done many camping trips and it’s never failed us. We never really planned on selling it but had an opportunity to get a boat that we always wanted and couldn’t pass it up. Selling the van to get a truck to tow the boat and looking for new adventures on water this time.
The van is a great truck I have done everything I can to make it a solid reliable car for myself. There are a few scratch lines in the paint from bushes we passed on our adventures, some chips here and there and some areas were you could touch up some rust spots on the roof, small chip in front window and small crack in right rear taillight. I’m a bit of a perfectionist so the are things I notice but are obviously not urgent. It’s not a show car, it’s a truck with imperfections but it’s solid and runs good.
Give me a call after 5:30 or shoot me a text if interested. Not in a rush to sell so not interested in low ball offers. Thanks - Nate
