Vehicle Description
Note: If the ad is still here, the car is still available.
Capri Blue, 2003 with 142,000 carefully maintained miles. Not original owner, but purchased from auto enthusiast friend at low mileage and maintained this car at local Mercedes Benz dealership until dealership service manager suggested ( 2 years ago) that I would save a lot by going to an independent German auto specialist, which I was very grateful for.
This car was not garage stored, and was my daily driver so it needs some loving restoration:
+ new Brakes
+ new shocks
+ new belts
+ new tires all the way around, including full size spare in trunk
+ engine oil changed regularly, all air filters, hoses & belts replaced in last year or so
+ new battery in last year, finally, replaces original battery since 2003.
The needs work list could be simple, could be in need of specialist - but, I will estimate what cost to repair may be worst case below, I am just not going to invest more into this, I need a new, new-car, an SUV.
- Convertible top: it is not operating despite having a place on Rt. 1 Edison NJ replace hydraulic fluids and it worked fine once it was replaced up until Covid. May just be refill or may require removal and replacement of pump: $1,500.
- Seats have some splits on seams: Seat covers, new seats from donor vehicle ($400), upholstery repair ($600+)
- remote trunk does not operate: $150 - $300 to repair but it feels like it is a wire connection issue
- 1 front fog lamp not working: $45
- carpet needs good cleaning: $100
- wiper cam is stripped, needs new motor/install - wiper works fine but does not return to lowest point on windshield when it is turned off: you can lower it by hand OR pay $450 - $600 to replace motor
- rust on door panels: replace doors ($600 Set) but then you have to re-shoot/paint entire vehicle ($2500)
- exhaust system can either be re-tacked in spots or replaced when most of above are taken care.
- only 1 key - lost the other one, but You can avoid high cost of Mercedes keys through 3rd party.
I want to sell this vehicle to someone that has short term need for safe, reliable daily drive but will invest time, energy and some funding to re enable a great car to make your driving better, by putting the top down and enjoying life!
Cash only, please.make an offer, this car is going to be sold.
