Vehicle Description
2003 Subaru Outback (Legacy model Outback, NOT a Subaru Legacy). H-6 3.0L AWD AUTO. To make it easier, you can look up the specs on this car and get all the “haves” i.e. heated leather seats, CD/AM/FM, all the features are the same in the H-6 3.0L models. I’ll tell you what it needs:
Rear shocks
One rear sway bar stabilizer
Front passenger CV joint
APPEARANCE: has a dented pass. side quarter panel, hood clear coat is peeling.
INTERIOR: Leather has a couple small blemishes, not torn up or stained, dash has a bad spot that a lot of these Subaru’s had over the top of the glove box.
I’m selling this car AS-IS and the price is negotiable. I drive it to work 15 miles each way every day. The rear shocks make noise, the CV joint isn’t shattered or “messed up” it’s just making noise. The exhaust has been patched both by me and the previous owner, and I’m the second owner. It’s MECHANICALLY SOUND AND RELIABLE! It has 250K miles on it. It burns a little oil, which is typical for its age. I just replaced a radiator hose and the rear brake pads and drums, and the front brakes (pads and drums) I did about a year ago.
This car runs A-1, drives great, rides a little funky because it needs new suspension. Shocks are $25 apiece and if you know how (or know someone who does) to do it without taking it to a shop it’s not a terrible repair. I replaced the driver’s side sway bar stabilizer myself and it’s not bad either. The pass. side needs it now. Please don’t call and try to haggle the price. I know that it runs like a top, the AWD works perfectly and will never leave you stuck in the snow. I know it has high miles and needs repairs but it’s worth $1000 as-is.
