Vehicle Description
This vehicle was very well cared for by the original owner – there are at least 52 service records for the vehicle, many by the first owner in Pennsylvania. The other two owners were apparently in Ohio and Kentucky. Not nearly as much salt used in all of those places as Minnesota!
Here’s the good. No accidents ever reported to Carfax. The engine runs strong. The transmission fluid was flushed several times last summer, and the tranny shifts very well. Spark plugs were replaced last summer. The battery is about a year old. New fuel pump. Heated seats and heavy duty factory floor mats – ready for winter! Brakes are excellent all the way around; about 5000 miles on the rear rotors and pads and only about 500 miles on the front rotors and pads. Four excellent matching tires. Fresh oil change. No timing belt to replace or break - this engine has a timing chain. The interior is very clean. No ugly stains. There are a few rips in the leather seats, but not on the driver’s seat, oddly enough. The exterior is quite good – no dents, but a few tiny dings and a few surface rust spots. There is some rust on the inside of the bottom of the rear passenger’s door (as shown in the photo), but it’s not obvious on the outside yet. The worst blemish on the exterior is a scrape or two on the plastic rear bumper on the driver’s side (see photo). As far as I know, everything works as it should on this vehicle except for one thing (below).
Here’s the bad. The original navigation system works only very occasionally. The radio is somehow related to the navigation system, and I’ve never gotten it to work, although I haven’t tried very hard, either. And the engine uses a quart of oil about every 750 miles.
My son drove it to South Carolina this summer. I wouldn’t hesitate to drive it anywhere in the country. The Kelly Blue Book values are:
Very good condition $3741
Good condition $3438
Fair condition $2770
I bought this for my two kids, who have been driving for a few years, but they prefer my old 2002 Toyota 4Runner. As you can see, this is a lot of car for $2900. I also have a set of spare Honda 16” alloy wheels Nokian winter tires, the very best winter tires you can buy. They are fabulous. Used last winter for about 4000 miles therefore almost all of the original tread is left. I can't recommend winter tires highly enough. They are probably the most important safety item you can have on a car when the roads are snowy and icy. $600 for the spare wheels with winter tires.
