Vehicle Description
This car has been my daily driver for the past five years. It still runs and drives, but has some issues. It has a misfire in one of its cylinders. Sometimes, when accelerating, you can feel the misfire as acceleration is uneven. Sometimes when the cylinder is misfiring the check engine light will flash for 30 seconds. However, it doesn't always do that. Once every 4-5 days the temperature gauge will show the car is overheating. There is no smoke or burning smell. I pull over and turn off the engine for 2-3 minutes and the temperature gauge goes back to normal and it drives fine after that. I had the spark plugs replaced. The local mechanic said there is bad compression in cylinder 1, but that it would cost $2000 to fix, and "just to keep driving it as the car wasn't worth enough to fix it." It does not always have these issues. It will run without issues for 3-4 days, then have issues for 2-3 days (but is still driveable when it has issues). It also has a cracked bumper cover and some damage on the hood from a minor rear-end collision from 4 years ago. It has some rust along the bottoms from the salted roads when we lived in West Virginia. The driver's side rear window is currently being held up with two suction cups. The gas gauge always shows full until it only has about a gallon left, then it plunges to empty! I just fill it up about every 300 miles.
Overall, this car is a bit ugly and has a few mechanical issues, however, I have driven it to work every day until past Friday when I replaced it. The interior is clean without tears in apolstery, and it has never been smoked in. It would make a good car for someone who is mechanically inclined. Call or text is best, however I won't respond until after 4 pm. (801) Three-One-Eight 3111
