Vehicle Description
After much thought I’ve decided to sell my trusty GMC Safari. This vehicle has provided reliable transportation as well as a comfortable and simple home away from home on many camping and climbing trips.
This last generation of Safari (also Chevy Astro) was built with the unstoppable V6 4.3 Liter Vortec engine, starts every time and runs great. All-wheel drive helps this vehicle drive anywhere and the rear helper spring adds clearance to get up and over rough spots in the road.
I have maintained the Safari meticulously and put a lot of work into it including:
-Regular oil and other fluid changes
-New universal joint
-New motor mounts (a common problem in these cars)
-New radiator and cap
-New transfer case at 159k
-Driver’s side wheel bearing assembly replacement
-New brake rotors and pads on the front
-Replaced front and rear shocks
-New front axle and front pinion seals
-And new left upper ball joint
Last spring I also had a custom roof rack made and mounted a roof deck onto that, which accepts a Rocketbox and has a bike mount on top as well.
In the back there is a simple living setup that includes a sliding bed, countertop with fold-up section that makes a seat, book rack, hinged drawer and tons of storage space. I also created a hanging table system that hangs on the outside of the sliding door and fits a Coleman 2-burner stove for outdoor cooking and prep.
The van has 169,000 miles, which is low compared to the 250k+ miles Safaris and Astro vans can get. It does have some surface rust but nothing that hinders performance and there is a check engine light on for an emissions valve. The motor runs strong in any temperature and at any speed.
Asking $9,400 obo.
Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments and to set up a time to come check it out. You can email me or text/call me on my cell phone at (8zero2) seven93-one7one7.
*Rocketbox and bikerack not included.
