Vehicle Description
Sadly letting go of my 2004 Honda S2000 (AP2). I bought this car recently after years of dreaming about owning one; unfortunately, some recent unforeseen financial strains and life events are forcing my hand to sell, far too soon.
After purchasing the car with 67,000 miles on the odometer, I immediately had the car thoroughly gone-through by Daisy Import Auto in Woodbine, MD. Anyone who knows Daisy, knows that they are country and world-renowned for their work on the NSX and the S2000. My total service bill was just north of $2,500 and included the following services...
-Valve adjustment, valve cover R&R
-Gaskets, tube seals, NGK spark plugs
-Service rear diff. and transmission w/ upgraded fluids
-Replaced water pump, thermostat, serp. belt + idler and tensioner
-Coolant system flush
-Replaced both outer tie rod ends
-Four-wheel alignment to spec
-Brake service, including: new coated front rotors, ceramic pads all around, replaced front passengers-side caliper, serviced rear calipers and caliper pins
-Brake fluid upgrade/ full system bleed, including clutch
-Replaced brake lines with steel-braided lines
-Replaced timing chain tensioner w/ new OEM tensioner
-New cabin air filter
As any true/ knowledgable S2000 enthusiast can see, this car was very thoughtfully inspected and maintained, as all typical S2000 preventative and recommended maintenance has been done to ensure that this car will run optimally for a very long time. Without making/ implying any guarantees, whoever owns this cars next needn't worry about investing any money into the mechanical nature of this car for some time. The car pulls strong through the RPM range and the engine/ transmission perform flawlessly. I can say with integrity, that there are currently 0 mechanical issues with this car. She is simply ready for the next owner to drive and enjoy. It is also important to note, that one of the main reasons I purchased this car in the first place, is due to the lack of rust/ corrosion on the chasis, sub-frame, etc. It is very clean for an East-Coast car. Additionally, I recently replaced the soft top with a brand new EZ-on top and the OEM clutch was replaced as well. I can text pictures of all recent invoices.
That's the good, but the car isn't perfect for a few reasons...
1) One of the exhaust tips rattles around when the car idles and there's also a small exhaust leak at the flange where the straight pipe meets the mufflers. I could be easily fixed with some spot welds and a new flange gasket (prob like a $15 fix), I just haven't had time to fix it.
2)The front passengers-side door speaker is completely blown (a cheap/ easy fix).
3) In addition, the interior/ exterior show signs of the car's age. Nothing egregious, just a few scuffs and scrapes on the interior and the traditional driver's-side bolster wear (see pic). The exterior paint is in generally good shape, some scuffs and rock chips in all the typical places, lots of metallic sparkles in the paint. The only true blemish is on the back-side of the driver's-side side-view mirror. It could def use a respray or wrap.
4) Also, if it were me, I would probably do a set of coilovers. The current suspension is fine other than the fact that it's 15 years old; it's just a bit on the softer side and some quality coilovers would probably be a nice upgrade.
Finally, the car was modified by the previous owner in 2 ways...
1) It is currently sitting on 17x9 +45 Enkei RPF1s. I do have AP2V2 OEM wheels which I can include with some additional negotiation.
2) Invidia Q300 exhaust. OEM exhaust not included.
That just about covers everything. Regarding price, a lower mileage more "pristine" example would run you anywhere from $22-25k+ so it's pretty accurately and fairly priced given its condition and recent upgrades/ maintenance. I'm willing to negotiate a little but I won't entertain low-ball offers. I live in Maryland but have the car listed in FL since its 365 convertible weather and winter is fast approaching up here. I can have the car professioanlly shipped very easily. Also it's important to mention that I've been the victim of shady and dishonest car deals before and I would never do that to someone else. I have nothing to hide and am happy to answer any questions you might have. I live my life by the golden rule.
Thanks for your interest!
