Vehicle Description
2004 Mercedes Benz 500E, private sale.
5.0 V8, 7 Speed G-Tronic. Navigation, heated seats and steering wheel, leather. Cold AC, hot heat.
Runs and drives very good, no leaks, very clean, nice interior with no rips. Good tires, brakes and tight steering. All windows and power options work except as noted below. The Airmatic works perfectly.
Several new parts, air struts, Airmatic pump, AC condenser and dryer. Recent SBC pump. Updated radiator.
Current Georgia emissions as of October this year. Clean TN title. No wreaks no rust.
This car has lots of miles. We have discovered the engine was replaced about 2 years ago (nothing else is known). This one runs very well and has great compression and lots of power. No noise or smoking.
The transmission can be slow to shift between 2nd and 3rd when cold (usually barley noticeable, a fluid and filter change with a good TB cleaning will likely solve this).
Needs a driver side rear shock replaced (it is clunking), the power steering pump makes noise.
Needs overhead control panel replaced. This controls the dome lights and sunroof switches. Diagnostics show the SAM is supplying power to the OCP, thus the panel needs to be replaced (a $50 part). Bypassing the OCP shows the sunroof works fine.
The active cornering headlights need a new control module (does not effect the lights in any way).
Of course being an older Benz, expect to want engine mounts and other rubber drive line bits at some point.
As a veteran MB technician, I like to be very detailed in the rare event I sell one of my toys and refrain from hiding issues like most cars on CR. Even though this is the Cheapest running driving E500 likely for sale anywhere, this should be a good reliable car, fast and luxurious. Perfect for DIY enthusiast looking for late model that only needs minor items to perfect. PPI's are welcome.
I am open to trades for older Diesel Mercedes - ONLY. Otherwise cash in person works. Reserve offers until you see the car please. Please text for info and indicate your are a potential serious buyer. I'm in no hurry to sell this car and my time is as valuable as yours.
If the AD is up the car is available. Text request asking about "item for sale" will be ignored.
(We actually got this car with thoughts of being a 24hr Lemons race car. It's just too nice for that!)
Thank You,
