Vehicle Description
This is my 2004 Boxster S 550 Spyder edition #1165/1953. I've owned the car for just about a year and it's my favorite car that I've ever owned. I'm only selling because another car that I've been searching for just became available to me and I don't have the space for both. I purchased the car at the beginning of this year from a dealership that took it on consignment from a local doctor in Phoenix AZ.
The car had 3 owners before me all of whom were elderly men in the southwest and the car is very well taken care of. I have the clean CA title and a recent smog report in hand.
When I purchased the car I was told the IMS was done in 2015 but I have no physical record of this. I had a PPI done on the car which I can provide, and was told the car was in amazing shape for its age and has no mechanical issues. During my ownership, I have been very particular about maintenance. The car was maintained at Sublime Silverlake and I only used OEM Porsche parts. Most recently I replaced the tires with new Firestone Indyhawk 500s, repaired the front trunk struts and latch, and repaired a small air leak that was throwing a check engine light. The car has a clean CA title but there was an "accident" reported on the carfax in 2007 which was a small amount of paintwork done totaling less than $1,000. I have looked extensively and can find no indication of any paintwork, so it was done very well. I keep the car stored in my garage and usually have it covered. I will list the known flaws below but please feel free to reach out with any questions!
Update: I replaced the rear trunk struts and put on OEM wiper blades. While installing the right wiper blade, the arm slipped out of my hand and cracked the windshield. Most insurance plans will replace the windshield for free so this shouldn't be an issue. That being said I have reduced the price by $1,000 for the inconvenience.
Known Flaws:
-Tear on passenger seat (see photo)
-Wheels not original color
-Missing vanity mirror covers
-Only have 1 key
-Small door ding on drivers side door
-Hole in shift boot
-Cup holder cracked (still functional)
-Paint chip on the passenger front wheel
-Cracked Windshield
I've tried to be as upfront and detailed about the issues with the car above but overall it is in amazing condition. This is the perfect driver's example of the ultimate 986 and yet the miles are still relatively low and it is in very good cosmetic condition. These Cars have become highly coveted and mine is by far the cheapest 550 on the market. The Hagerty Price Guide lists a #2 car at $31,000 and a #3 car at $21,000, I'd say this example is somewhere in-between those two making this a very good deal. I am motivated to sell and would happily drive the car halfway or within a certain distance in order to make a sale.
