Vehicle Description
Purchased this 2004 Scion 5 speed manual with the Flames already on it in 2007 from a dealership in Texas. Been with us ever since.
Mostly stored in the garage. Has been sitting in storage for over a year due to unable to work on it. The clutch finally wore down.
Past three weeks, replaced, transmission, also the clutch disk, pressure plate, bearing, battery, front brake pads and rotors.
Car would still not go into gear so.Scion tech recommended bleeding the slave cylinder. It would not hold. Replaced slave cylinder, stronger pedal but still will not go into gear. Tech recommended the aftermarket clutch kit must have an issue with the pressure plate. I took trans out a second time, replaced with a performance clutch kit, but also had the trans rebuilt by a guy because I heard grinding when turning the input shaft.
Put back in 2nd time. Now it goes through all gears, drives nice but is acting as if the clutch is not fully engaged. Acting like it is slipping. You will be able to test drive around my neighborhood if you want.
