Vehicle Description
2004 Subaru Outback Sedan
This Outback is a strong runner, and of course it has Subaru AWD. It is the 6 cyl model (uses a timing chain, doesn’t have the belt issue). The engine runs smoothly. Brakes and struts were recently replaced. The interior is is fairly clean and in decent shape. No rips or tears in the leather. I've consistently gotten 25+ mpg commuting between Muscatine and Silvis (2/3 hwy, 1/3 city).
It does have a few issues:
- Starting to rust quite a bit in the rear fenders and rear door entry.
- Sunroof switching is unreliable, so it can get stuck open – I don’t use it.
- Trunk release latch is sticky and needs to be manually ‘reset’.
- There is a big ding and crack in the windshield that has be vacuum sealed. It is not growing at all, but is right in the line of sight.
- Two of the tires will need to be replaced before too long.
