Vehicle Description
I am incredibly sad to let this car go as my plan was to put 500k miles on it, but alas my move to Miami tells me my old reliable 04 TDI will not love the humidity of the the east coast as I start a new chapter. So I'm looking for a loving home! This is the MKIV BEW model (late 04). It's a highly desirable trim with upgraded interior and Bose sound system that really kicks! This car is just so fun to drive and I'll miss it dearly. On the freeway with high tire pressure I did 60+ mpg (I drove to LA and partway back on ONE tank (13.3 gal) of diesel). If I haven't said it enough, I love this car! It's the perfect city/road trip car. I hope you love it as much as me.
Tons of love and care into this car. I bought it from a TDI enthusiast and have kept regular maintenance in the few years I've owned it.
Lots of major components has been updated on the car in the last year - and not because it was falling apart. It was because I wanted it bullet proof for the next 50-80k miles but a new job has me changing plans rapidly:
-new timing belt and water pump ($1500, only like 500 miles ago)
-new turbo actuator ($200)
-new in tank lift pump ($400)
-new front subframe ($500)
-new steering tie rod ends and suspension, front and rear, plus mounting (almost $1.5k)
-new brakes and rotors ($500)
-all four new tires ($600)
The list goes on. This is on top of regular maintenance (fluids, oil changes and fuel/cabin filters, etc). Recent shift solenoid replacement and service (google it. you can extend the auto tranny on these things by a decade). All maintenance done by Dan at Whole Auto in Petaluma who is the best TDI guy in the area. He'll educate you on what's going on with the car and let you buy the parts and never upsells nonsense. The car is TIP TOP mechanically. The interior was also detailed last month. It's got a couple interior/exterior rashes being 15+ years old, but it's really in great shape and drives fantastic. If you enjoy cars and like driving, you'll love my TDI. Registration paid and willing to play nice for CA taxes in the title transfer (cash only).
These go for $4.5-$9.5k. I picked a fair price especially given the $3.5k+ in service in the last few months alone. It'll need nothing but oil changes for a very long time.
Priority given to texts.
