Vehicle Description
2005 Chevy Aveo LS hatchback in very good condition with only 64,425 miles on the odometer. Equipped with front wheel drive, the 5-speed manual transmission is coupled to a fuel-efficient 1.6L four-cylinder engine that starts every time and runs like a top.
This Aveo seats five, is equipped with enough LATCH anchors for two car seats, and the hatchback design combined with the 60/40 folding rear seats, flip-up rear seat bottoms, and tall ceiling make for many versatile cargo carrying configurations. It is equipped with the below options:
— 103-HP 1.6L DOHC I-4 Engine
— 5-Speed Manual Transmission
— 3.94:1 Drive Axle Ratio (FWD)
— 4-Wheel Anti-Lock Brakes
— Air Conditioning
— Tinted Windows
— Heated & Folding Side View Mirrors
— Daytime Running Lights
— Tilt Steering
— Manual Windows, Locks, Seats, Mirrors
— CD/MP3/Radio Player
— Aftermarket ScanGaugeE Trip Computer
— Cloth Interior w/color-matched Seat Covers
— Removable Cargo Area Sun Shade
— Rear Spoiler
— 4-Wheel Mud Guards
I have performed regular preventative maintenance on this vehicle since purchasing it, and it is currently in excellent mechanical condition. Engine oil has been changed every 3,000 miles with synthetic Pennzoil Platinum 5W-30, and I consistently drain the full capacity.
The timing belt, water pump, thermostat, and serpentine belt were all proactively replaced 5,000 miles ago per the recommended maintenance schedule. I also performed a minor tune-up within the last 100 miles that included replacing the below wear items:
— Front Brake Pads, Rotors, & Calipers
— Spark Plugs & Wires
— Valve Cover & Throttle Body Gaskets
— Engine & Cabin Air Filters
— Motor Oil & Filter
— Windshield Wiper Blades
I tend to be overly fastidious about these things, and have taken the time to verify that all features and functions work as they should — there are no idiot lights on, the A/C blows cold, all exterior lights and turn signals work as expected, and all four speakers work properly.
The cloth interior is in virtually flawless condition, thanks to the color-coordinated seat covers and the all-season rubber floor mats. We are non-smokers, and the car has never been used to transport animals.
The exterior is in very good overall condition, with the only significant flaw existing in the form of a small area of flaking top coat on the driver side of the rear bumper cover. I've photographed this area for sake of reference — it is barely visible from a distance of 5-6' away.
The Masterforce Strategy P185/65R14 tires have 15,114 miles on them and came with a 65,000 mile warranty. Combined with the front wheel drive of the Aveo, I have found snow performance to be above average when navigating unplowed rural roads and our (hilly) country drive.
I am an optimizer and efficiency nut by nature, and manually calculate my MPG at every fill-up. The aftermarket ScanGaugeE trip computer / fuel economy gauge provides additional data points in the form of instant and average fuel economy as well. I historically average about 30-32 MPG in mixed driving, but can consistently obtain 35-37 MPG at speeds of 55–60 MPH.
My wife and I originally purchased this car used in 2011, from what I believe to be the original owners. The Aveo served as both our daily driver and trip vehicle for several years, after which it was relegated solely to daily driver status after our acquisition of another slightly larger hatchback. The extremely low mileage for the year is a result of my daily commute consisting of only a few miles each way.
Our primary reason for selling is that our growing family of four has my wife and I contemplating embracing the undeniable utility of the mini-van.
This car is in great running condition, needs nothing, and was recently detailed. Comes with electronic copies of the Build Sheet, Owner's Manual, and Service Manual.
I can provide additional information, photos, or videos upon request. Email for additional information or text me on my cell at (269) 883-eight-two-nine-two. Thanks for looking!
